With talk of how the sequester could impact the economy, job fairs happening around Delaware act as a powerful tool to help thousands of Delawareans looking for work.

WDEL holds its "Next Step Career Expo," Thursday at the new Crowne Plaza Hotel on Naamans Road.

Senator Coons says Delaware has had a consistently lower jobless rate than the national average, but that's not to say all who want a job have one.

"There are some sectors that are hiring and where people are getting employment opportunities and where employers are bringing jobs to Delaware because of the quality of the quality of our workforce, but I do hear from friends, neighbors and acquaintances who are still really struggling to find employment."

Coons and the rest of Delaware's Congressional delegation are involved in another job fair this Wednesday at the Embassy Suites in Newark.

WDEL's job fair on Thursday happens between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. and features companies including WSFS, Capital One, AFLAC, and the Delaware Army National Guard.
