By Gianna Banner

State police are searching for two drivers involved in a hit and run crash in New Castle Saturday evening.

Police say around 6:25 pm, a vehicle described as red Nissan Altima was traveling eastbound on Cawdor Lane and failed to remain stopped at a posted stop sign. The Altima entered the Airport Road intersection and collided with a 2002 Ford Taurus, driven by Precious Somo S. Wowoah.

Ralph S. Heaps, of Wilmington, was driving a 1999 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound Airport Road and tried to avoid the crash, but hit the Taurus head on instead. He was ejected and propelled when an unknown vehicle struck him and fled.

A Chrysler 300 operated by William Hunter, who was behind the motorcycle also collided with the Ford Taurus.

Heaps was taken to Christiana Hospital admitted in serious condition. Wowoah was also taken to the Hospital with minor injuries. Hunter was restrained and not injured.

Troopers are looking for the drivers of the red Nissan Altima with possible front end damage and an unknown vehicle that fled the scene. Police ask anyone with information to contact Troop 2 or Crimestoppers.
