A pedestrian is killed in a hit and run accident early Saturday morning in Wilmington.

City Police say a preliminary investigation shows the 57-year-old male victim left a house on the 1700 block of West 2nd Street around 1:30 A-M, when he fell down in the road. Investigators suspect he may have been drinking.

Police say an oncoming pick-up truck hit the victim and drove away.

Officers report performing C-P-R on the victim before taking him to Christiana Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The pick-up is described as red with a stripe running the length of the truck.

Wilmington P-D encourage the driver to come forward.
