Updated Wednesday, March 20, 2013 - 6:03pm
Drivers in Maryland with young children in the car may have to find somewhere else to smoke their cigarette.
The Maryland state Senate has approved a ban on smoking in vehicles if a child under eight is in the car.
The measure also forbids other passengers from smoking in cars when children are present. Violators face a $50 fine.
The measure, which has had trouble in past years, now heads to Maryland's House of Delegates for a vote.
