Delaware will get a taste of the true Women's Basketball elites when they battle North Carolina Tuesday at 7pm at the Bob Carpenter Center.

The 1994 National Champion Tar Heels are under the direction of Sylvia Hatchell, the 2nd all-time winningest coach in NCAA Division I Women's Basketball history.

The game also represents a chance for Delaware advance to its first ever Sweet 16 after losing in last year's 2nd round to Kansas, in a 3 vs. 11 "upset."

Delaware led in that game at the break, before falling 70-64 to end their first trip through the NCAA Tournament.

Tina Martin, Delaware's head coach, emphasized during an over two and a half minute portion of her pre-practice Press Conference Tuesday that her team has accomplished a lot during the past two seasons.

"We're two-time defending (CAA) Champions, we've been undefeated (in conference) for two years. I don't want anything to be taken away from this team and what they've accomplished and the history they've made because of one tournament game."

Amongst Delaware's marquee wins the last two years are nationally-ranked Penn State, an eventual Sweet 16 team in St. Bonaventure, St. John's, Wake Forest, Villanova, and of course, Sunday's win over West Virginia.

"It's one game, it's an opportunity." An opportunity they hope to jump on Tuesday.
