Wilmington police are investigating a skimming operation at a Shell Gas Station.

Police say maintenance workers discovered skimmers, or electronic devices illegally attached to a credit card readers that record and relay a card's information to third parties, on two pumps at the Shell station at 4201 N. Market Street Friday.

That information is then often used for fraudulent purchases.

If you've used your credit or debit card at that location, police say you should check your latest statement for any discrepancies.

Anyone who sees a discrepancy, you should contact your bank or credit card provider and call your local police agency.
