Calling all Wilmingtonians: Community Project Day being planned
By Peter MacArthur

Wilmington wants its residents to show their true colors by taking part in Community Project Day.

Mayor Williams says they're recruiting people to volunteer to take on things like cleaning a vacant lot, planting a tree or even trash and recycling efforts door to door.

He says those projects have broader implications.

"People can come out and express the good things going on in the city and being very positive and talking about stopping the violence, not getting involved in violence and rolling your sleeves up to show that you want to be a good neighbor, a good Wilmingtonian."
