Authorities say New Castle County's chief administrative officer was involved in a fight at a restaurant in Wilmington's Little Italy.

Wilmington police spokesman Mark Ivey tells The News Journal that David Grimaldi was bitten on the hand during the scuffle Saturday night and is considered the victim.

Ivey says Grimaldi and the owner of the restaurant declined to press charges against Charles Arcaro, who bit the county official. Grimaldi and Arcaro were at a table at the Pastabilities restaurant with another man.

After the fight, Grimaldi called New Castle County Police Chief Elmer Setting, who responded to the scene even though Wilmington police had jurisdiction. Grimaldi say he called Setting for advice and that the chief did not exercise any influence.
