By Associated Press 12:34am, April 27, 2013Home plate umpire Brian O'Nora quickly left the field in the bottom of the first inning of Friday night's game between the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Mets for an unspecified reason.
The game was delayed nine minutes while the Mets were batting. It resumed with three umpires after first base ump Adrian Johnson changed into his plate gear.
O'Nora headed to the Mets' dugout on the first base side after Daniel Murphy hit a grounder for the second out. O'Nora scooted through the bench and hurried down the steps leading to the clubhouses.
Managers Terry Collins of the Mets and Charlie Manuel of the Phillies came onto the field to talk with umpires Fieldin Culbreth and Bill Welke. Philadelphia pitcher Kyle Kendrick warmed up while organ music played and ads were shown on the videoboard for this summer's All-Star game at Citi Field.
