The Baltimore Ravens selected Kansas State inside linebacker Arthur Brown with the 56th overall pick and defensive tackle Brandon Williams with the 94th overall pick in the NFL draft.

Baltimore moved up in a trade with Seattle to get Brown, a 6-foot, 242-pounder who served as a team captain with the Wildcats after transferring from Miami.

Ravens assistant general manager Eric DeCosta calls Brown "a four-down linebacker who's very good in coverage."

To get Brown, the Ravens gave Seattle their second-round pick at No. 62, a fifth and a sixth-round selection.

Brown has a chance to fill the middle linebacker spot vacated by Ray Lewis, who retired after Baltimore won the Super Bowl in February.

Brown says, "It's an opportunity to play a great role in the defense scheme, like Ray did."

The 6-foot-1, 335-pound Williams played for Missouri Southern State.

The NFL champions earlier selected safety Matt Elam in the first round Thursday.
