Police say the rock was thrown at a car late Friday night on Coastal Highway about a mile south of the Indian River Bridge. The rock struck and injured a 22-year-old woman in the face. She was in the passenger seat.
The woman was taken to Beebe Hospital and was later transferred to Christiana Medical Center. Her condition was not known Saturday.
The rock left a gaping hole in the windshield. Police are investigating the incident as reckless endangerment.
