Use your phone, get a ticket
By Carl Kanefsky

More than 2,000 drivers got tickets for distracted driving with regard to using hand held cell phones during a two week period earlier this month.

Officials with the Department of Highway Safety say April 9th to April 22nd represented the second phase of the "Phone in One Hand, Ticket in the Other" campaign.

Combined with the first wave of the campaign, almost 4,200 tickets have been issued.

Last year, Delaware law enforcement agencies issued more than 13,000 cell phone citations statewide.
