A two-year-old boy is among four people injured in a head-on crash near New Castle Sunday night.

State police say a pick-up truck heading southbound in the northbound lanes of South DuPont Highway just before 10 p.m. slammed into a northbound car.

Police say Jerome Lewis of New Castle was heading south on Route 13 when he collided with a Dodge Ram driven by Larry Boerner of Keyport, N.J.

Lewis was trapped for about half an hour before being pulled out by rescue crews. He's in serious condition at Christiana Hospital with injuries to his head and limbs.

Boerner is in Christiana Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Desiree Dejesus was trapped in the truck for about 20 minutes. She's in serious condition. Two-year-old Christian Boerner is at A.I. duPont Hospital for Children with a serious head injury.
