The state attorney general's office is asking a judge to declare a New Castle home that is an alleged haven for drug dealers and prostitutes to be a criminal nuisance.

Authorities are seeking the immediate eviction of the homeowner and tenants at 21 Memorial Drive, where several people were arrested after a March drug raid.

According to court papers, police have made more than 40 arrests at the property, where recent events include three assaults, a stabbing and an armed robbery.

Authorities describe the property as "a material annoyance, inconvenience and discomfort to neighboring properties and persons."

Authorities say 68-year-old homeowner Paul Bembry has failed to address the criminal nuisance problems. Bembry currently is facing criminal charges of maintaining a drug property and possession of a firearm during a felony.
