Prescription Drug Take-Back Day nets more than 6,100 lbs. of drugs
By Tom Lehman

If you participated in last month's Prescription Drug Take Back Day, you certainly weren't the only one.

The Department of Health and Social Services says it collected more than 6,100 pounds of unwanted and expired medications as part of the program.

Officials say they collected the second-highest total of drugs collected in Delaware since the program began in 2010.

Prescription Drug Take Back day is intended to help keep unwanted medications out of cabinets to help prevent drug abuse and theft.
