House to vote on lobbying reform bill
By Associated Press

The state House is set to vote on a bill prohibiting a former member of the General Assembly from working as a lobbyist for one year after leaving office.

The bill sponsored by Rep. John Kowalko, a Newark Democrat, is similar to others bill he has introduced in previous years seeking to end the so-called "revolving door" that churns lawmakers into lobbyists.

The bill to be voted on Tuesday would make violation of the one-year ban on lobbying a misdemeanor.

The bill would take in 2015, meaning it would not affect current lawmakers.
