Contractor charged with defrauding customers
By Associated Press

A Millsboro heating and air conditioning contractor, his son and five other employees are charged with scamming customers.

Attorney General Beau Biden announced the indictments Tuesday afternoon.

Biden says John Walsh, the owner of Mid-Atlantic Heating and Air Inc., scammed customers repeatedly, billing them for more than the agreed price for subpar work. He says in some cases, Walsh installed used systems painted to appear new instead of the new systems he promised customers. Some of the alleged victims went to Walsh for repairs after Superstorm Sandy.

Walsh faces 101 charges and his 19-year-old son, Jonathan, faces 40, including racketeering, home improvement fraud and theft. Five other employees also face charges.
