Two casinos would be authorized under House bill
By Tom Lehman

A bill authorizing two new casinos in Delaware is scheduled to be heard by committee next week.

House Bill 135 would allow for new casinos to be built in New Castle and Sussex counties, with the locations being determined by a nine-member panel.

The members of that group would be appointed by Governor Markell, Speaker of the House Pete Schwartzkopf and Senate President Pro Tempore Patricia Blevins.

The panel's decisions would be final and the casinos wouldn't be required to offer horse racing.

The bill is sponsored by Talleyville Democrat Dennis E. Williams.
