It was a special night for Salesianum lacrosse Thursday. Not only was it Senior Night, it was also the last game of the regular season before tournament play.
The Sals (13-2) honored many people on the finale night, and stepped up to the occasion as they cruised to a 19-5 victory against St. Mark's at Baynard Stadium.
Senior Craig Zebrowski dished to Jason Kelly early on to give the Sals an early 1-0 advantage.
With more than eight minutes left in the first quarter, the Spartans answered back when Michael Walsh drove to the goal and scored to knot the game at one.
Sallies went on a 7-0 run into the second quarter with the help of Kelly, Sam Fink, Bailey Martin and Sean Giampietro, before St.Mark's would score again with less than four minutes to go in the half. The Sals led 9-2 at the break.
Three consecutive goals by the Spartans helped St. Mark's close the gap. St. Mark's trailed 13-5 going into the final quarter.
The Sals outscored the Spartans 6-0 to close out the game and win their eleventh straight. The Sallies only losses come from out-of-state teams.
Kelly led all scorers with five goals.
The Spartans end the regular season with a 12-3 record, also losing to Cape Henlopen and Tower Hill.
