Cardiac arrest patient saved at Delaware Marathon

Christiana Care nurses and paramedics may be responsible for saving a 59-year-old man's life Sunday.

County paramedics say, the man collapsed at the finish line of the while running the 10th annual Delaware Marathon Sunday.

County paramedics say the patient went into cardiac arrest, and the nursing staff was there to initiate CPR andd apply an automated external defibrillator.

Three minutes after the participant collapsed, he was able to open his eyes and respond.

He was taken to Christiana Hospital, where at last check, he's in stable condition.
