One occupant of a Wilmington apartment building had to jump to safety during a fire early Monday.

Police say the person jumped from the second floor of the building at 1401 North Claymont at about 1 a.m. but wasn't hurt.

Three dozen firefighting personnel turned out to put the fire out. It was declared under control at 2 a.m.

No injuries, but ten people who live there were left without housing temporarily as eight units were left uninhabitable.

Investigators are looking for a cause.
