The state House passes a gun bill requiring the reporting of a lost or stolen handgun.

Senate Bill 16 would require owners to report within one week, the loss or theft of a handgun. A first offense would mean a fine of $75-to-$100, a second offense carries a fine of $100-to-$250, while a third offense is a class G felony.

The bill passed the House 22-to-19, and Governor Markell intends to sign it into law.
