Blue Hens Yezzo named CAA POY

A near Triple Crown season has won the CAA Player of the Year honor for Delaware first baseman Jimmy Yezzo.

The Blue Hen junior led the league in hitting at .406, RBI's with 63 and finished second in home runs with 13.

Yezzo is the first Delaware player to be named Player of the Year in the CAA.

Senior outfielder Nick Ferdinand joined Yezzo on the first team.

Named to the second team were junior pitcher Chad Kuhl and sophomore shortstop Brock Niggebrugge...senior second baseman D.J. Long and senior relief pitcher Stephen Richter were picked for the third team.

The CAA tournament starts today in Harrisonburg, Virginia...Delaware plays James Madison at 3:30.
