Thirty-six-year-old Xiang Li of Chengdu, China, was sentenced Tuesday in federal court in Wilmington.
Prosecutors say he will be deported when he is released from prison.
The charges involve a website that sold pirated software, designed for high-tech industrial applications, in which the access control mechanisms had been circumvented.
