Wilmington man arrested for alleged child rape

Wilmington police have arrested a man who allegedly raped a five-year-old child.

Ulysses Daniels faces rape and child sex abuse charges after police say he sexually assaulted the child several days ago at a home on the 400 block of E. 12th Street.

Daniels was taken into custody at the Quality Inn, 147 N. DuPont Highway in New Castle

Police began investigating yesterday after officers were called to A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children for the sexual abuse of a child.

Daniels is being held at the Wilmington Police Department pending arraignment.
