Wilmington police say a five-year-old girl has been hospitalized after being shot in the leg Wednesday night.

It happened around 8:10 p.m. on the 1100 block of Pleasant Street. Police say the girl was standing outside her home when she was shot in the right leg by unknown suspect.

The girl was taken to A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children for treatment, but has since been transferred to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in stable condition.

Police don't have any suspects, and the investigation is ongoing.
