DCAS: Scores slip in math, gains in reading
By Amy Cherry

Students scores slip on the Delaware Comprehensive Assessment System.

In math, student scores dropped three percentage points from 73 percent to 70 percent from last year. But math scores are still much higher than in 2011, when only 62 percent of students scored "proficient."

Though the scores showed some gains. 72-percent of students ranked "proficient" in reading compared to just 61-percent last year.

Students with disabilities and those with English language barriers continue to struggle with the state missing targets by a narrow margin, but Delaware schools remain on-track to meet all federal goals.
