Del. officials meeting on casino issues
By ASsociated Press

Officials in Delaware are meeting to discuss options to help the state's casinos in the face of growing regional competition.

The News Journal reports a committee of state officials, lawmakers and a representative of the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce begin meeting Tuesday. They are expected to meet for six months before reporting back to lawmakers by January.

The meetings begin less than a month after lawmakers approved an $8 million plan to cover higher than anticipated costs to vendors who provide slot machines for Delaware Park, Dover Downs and Harrington Raceway and Casino.
