Hundreds attend memorial for Salisbury murder victim
By Mark Fowser

Charles "CJ" Abbott of Hebron, who was shot to death last week at a home near the Salisbury University campus, was remembered Sunday at a memorial service attended by hundreds of people at the Wicomico County Youth and Civic Center.

His boss told the audience that "we are sad, we are angry, but we must carry on."

The Sheriff's Office says Abbott, who was 19 years old, intervened in a domestic dispute last Tuesday night, but was shot in the head by 19-year-old Ryan Shallue of Stevensville.

Shallue also shot his former girlfriend, Salisbury University student Kristen Loetz.

She is still being treated at Maryland's Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for multiple gunshot wounds.

Deputies say Shallue also fatally shot himself.
