University of Delaware football coach Dave Brock is happy his team is 2-0...but he says the first half of last Saturday's 42-21 win over Delaware State was definitely better than the second.
Now the Blue Hens have to prepare for a Navy team that runs the triple option and poses all kinds of problems for Delaware's run defense.
Navy is 1-0 after running past Indiana last Saturday in its season opener, 41-35.
The Midshipmen rolled up 444 yards per game, including 127 by quarterback Keenan Reynolds, who Brock says is a fantastic player, who can run and throw the ball effectively.
Brock says because the Midshipmen don't throw often, when they do it's usually an explosive play...but then again, their running game is explosive as well.
As a result, it's critical to prepare well for Navy and play assignment football on defense.
Another key, says Brock, is getting the right looks for the defense from the Blue hens scout team this week, and while he says he knows who would be running scout team, he wouldn't divulge that information.
Brock added he loves road games, playing before a hostile crowd...and 35,000 fans, mostly rooting for Navy, will be packed inside Navy-Marine Corps Stadium on Saturday.
