Rt. 1 reopens after crash
By Associated Press

Northbound lanes of Delaware Route 1 have reopened near Boyds Corner in New Castle County after a dump truck crash closed the roadway for several hours.

The truck crashed just before 5:30 a.m. Wednesday and spilled its load of sand on the road.

Emergency crews diverted traffic off of the northbound highway at Pole Bridge Road for several hours. The road had reopened by 9 a.m.

State Police say the truck driver swerved to avoid hitting a car that pulled onto the roadway from the right shoulder.
