By Tom Lehman 4:53pm, September 18, 2013 - Updated 10:23pm, September 18, 2013A homeless man is arrested for the fire that caused $500,000 in damage to a historic building in Claymont last month.
The State Fire Marshal's office says 43-year-old Shawn Gibson has been charged with attempted murder for the Aug. 12 fire, which heavily damaged the former site of the Coach House Restaurant at 2600 Philadelphia Pike.
Gibson was arrested by the Division of Gaming Enforcement at Dover Downs Tuesday night for theft, which led to the discovery that he had several warrants out for his arrest.
The building, which was constructed in 1899, most recently contained The Bourbon Street Grill but was closed last year.
Gibson is being held on $76,000 cash bail.
