18 air conditioners stolen
By Michelle Provencher

Newark Police have arrested one suspect in connection with the robbery of 18 air conditioners, but say another suspect is still at-large.

Police say the two suspects cut a hole in the fence of a business on the 700 block of Interchange Boulevard Wednesday night and stole 18 scrap AC-units.

19-year-old Adam Roper was tracked down shortly after. He was arrested at his home in Chestnut Hill Estates without incident.

Roper was arraigned and released on seven-thousand-dollars unsecured bond.

Officers say there is an arrest warrant for the second suspect, 37-year-old Ernest Lapointe.

Police say Lapointe is known to frequent area hotels but has no official local address.
