State police have charged a Pennsylvania man with ramming a van into a trooper's cruiser while fleeing a store where he and others allegedly had been shoplifting.

Twenty-seven-year-old Davin M. Jeter of Philadelphia had been arrested in Pennsylvania and was extradited to Delaware on Monday. He is charged with assault and numerous other offenses.

Troopers say on Aug. 25, Jeter drove a van full of merchandise stolen from the Home Depot in Glasgow; four alleged conspirator were in the vehicle with him.

Police say when a marked state police vehicle approached, Jeter drove the van into the driver's side of the patrol vehicle.

The trooper and the four occupants were injured. Police say Jeter fled after the crash.
