Blue Hens fight back to earn first conference victory

University of Delaware (4-1, 1-0 CAA) trailed at the half, but the Blue Hens came from behind to get its first conference victory of the season against James Madison at Delaware Stadium.
Delaware didn't score until the second quarter. When the Blue Hens went for it on fourth down, Andrew Pierce rushed for a 2-yard touchdown. Sean Baner's extra point was good, and the Hens trailed 13-7 with seven minutes remaining in the half.
JMU (3-2, 0-1) extended the lead 19-7 at the break, after Dae'Quan Scott caught a 33-yard touchdown pass from Michael Birdsong.
The Hens took its first lead in the third quarter, when UD shutdown the Dukes' offense. Malcolm Bush and Nick Boyle caught touchdown passes from quarterback Trent Hurley to give UD the 22-19 edge going into the final quarter.
Hurley finished with 233 yards in the game.
In the fourth quarter, JMU tied the game up at 22 a piece, when Cameron Starke kicked a 28-yard field goal.
The Blue Hens answered with the game-winning touchdown from Boyle to give the Hens the 29-22 victory.
The Blue Hens are still undefeated at home, but travel to Maine on Oct 5 for its next challenge.
