River Towns Ride and Festival celebrates two historic towns
By Amy Cherry

Two historic towns team up for the River Towns Ride and Festival this weekend.

Julie Miro Wenger tells WDEL you can ride your bike the 10 scenic miles between historic Old New Castle and Delaware City--and that's really the impetus behind the event.

"The history between the two towns just both being on the river and wanting to forge a relationship to try to get folks to see all the amenities, new bike routes and paths," says Miro Wenger.

On the Delaware City side, you'll find a craft beer festival in Battery Park.

On the Green in Old New Castle, you'll find a more family-friendly festival. The first 350 kids get a free pumpkin they can decorate on-site.

The festival runs from 12-5 p.m. Saturday. For more information, click here.
