Former City Councilman passes away

Antonio Resto, the first Hispanic citizen elected to Wilmington City Council has died.

Resto served the city's Fifth District for one term in the 1970s, and served for ten years as a Constable with the Delaware Justice of the Peace Court, before retiring in 2008.

While a member of Council, Resto was active in the establishment of the Latin American Community Center, and an advocate for youth services, including recreation programs and after-school activities.
