Most Concord High students back in class Tuesday
By Mellany Armstrong

Most students were in class Tuesday, but still under heightened security, following a threat on a school social educational website at Concord High School in North Wilmington.

Brandywine School District spokeswoman Alexis Andrianopoulos says Concord High doesn't calculate attendance until the end of the school day, but an estimate by teachers shows about 95 percent of the 1,099 students were in class Tuesday. The students faced a second day of backpack searches and state police presence.

It was a different story Monday when 418 students stayed home. The posts on the website, described as offensive and vulgar, are believed to have been made by a student in another state.
