Passengers on the Cape May - Lewes Ferry will be boarding through four rebuilt "boarding bridges" that connect the terminals to the vessels.

Ferry officials announced Tuesday that installation work is underway in Lewes, and is expected to get underway in Cape May this month.

White, stainless steel trusses and glass side panels will greet Ferry passengers as the existing "tubes" are replaced.

Construction is expected to be completed by the end of November.

In the meantime, foot passengers will need to use the vehicle bridges to get onto the Ferry.

The cost of the project is $4.25 million.
