Local forum examines gov't shutdown, effects
By Amy Cherry

The government may be back up and running, for now, but a local panel takes a look at the aftermath of the federal fiscal crisis and the partial government shutdown.

Newark area Democratic State Rep. Paul Baumbach tells WDEL there's lingering questions.

"Are we going to be going through the same thing in 90 days? So I would like to think that at some point, Congress is going to figure how to be grown ups, and how to work together and put the country first instead of their own political lives first, and we haven't seen that," says Baumbach.

The forum, co-sponsored by the Delaware Chapter of Americans for Democratic Action is free and open to the public.

It's being held at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Newark on 420 Willa Road at 10 a.m. Saturday.
