A.I. comes from behind to defeat Charter

A.I. duPont trailed Charter with three minutes remaining in the game, but Freddie Heard's touchdown pass to Quadree Henderson lifted the Tigers past the Force for the 22-19 come-from-behind victory.

A.I. (5-4) scored on its opening drive, when Heard scored on the keeper with 6:39 left to go in the first quarter. The extra point was good to give the Tigers the early 7-0 lead.

Before the opening quarter came to an end, Charter scored on first and goal with a Lameck Muaka's rushing touchdown. The two point conversion failed, but Charter trailed 7-6 at the end of one.

Charter (2-7) scored one more touchdown before the half, when quarterback Matthew Oliver passed to Ross Kamen for the 11 yard touchdown reception. The PAT failed, but the Force extended the lead 12-7 at the break.

In the third quarter, Oliver and Kamen connected again. This time for the four yard touchdown pass. The extra point was good and the Force lead 19-7 with more than two minutes to play in the quarter. The Tigers found the quick answer when Heard dished to Aaron Limberry. Limberry rushed for 43 yards down the right sideline to score the touchdown. The PAT was successful and the Tigers cut the lead 19-14 going into the final quarter.

With three minutes left to play, Heard passed to Henderson for the long 55 yard game-winning touchdown. Heard also scored on the two point conversion.

The Tigers host its final regular season game against Glasgow next Friday, as Charter closes out its season with a final game against Appoquinimink.
