One injured after shooting in Wilmington

Wilmington police say a young man is in stable condition after being shot in the hip Monday afternoon.

It happened around 5:49 p.m. in the area of Taylor and Bennett Streets on the city's east side.

Police say the 18-year-old man was walking in the area when he when he heard gunshots and realized he had been shot in the hip.

The victim was taken to Christiana Hospital in stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing and police have not identified any suspects.
