Restoration and remediation work is underway at Dover's Mirror Lake.

State officials including Governor Markell and others reflected on the Mirror Lake project Thursday.

It's been underway since October 1st, utilizing activated carbon to bind contaminates in lake sediments - the same technique used in many water filters.

The Governor says the project will reduce contamination, benefiting the marine life in the lake as well as the area's natural beauty.

Mostly state funds are paying for the project, which is costing about $1-million.
