St. Mark's runs past Oxford

St. Mark's ran for four touchdowns and a field goal to push past Oxford (Pa.) 30-7 Thursday.

The Spartans were 6-3 on the season and hoping that getting this last win would propel them into the playoff's, their opponents, the Hornets were 7-3 entering the match-up.

St. Mark's got going early as in the first quarter they ran in two touchdowns, the first from running back Taaron Brown and the second on a quarterback keeper from Zach Whitehead.

The Hornets did not go away quietly as running back Zach Deasey took a handoff and found his way in for the score. The Spartans finished the second quarter strong running in their third score on another Brown run.

The second half was all Spartan defense as they held the Hornets scoreless, the offense capped on another rushing touchdown (Greg Betts) and field goal (Jeff Richards) to go on and win 30-7.
