Bail not lowered for ex-Tower Hill headmaster
By Chris Carl

A request to reduce the bail for former Tower Hill headmaster Chris Wheeler has been denied.

Wheeler's lawyer argued Friday that the $1.5 million cash bail was excessive, in part because Wheeler does not have a criminal record.

But in denying the motion, Common Pleas Court Judge Sheldon Rennie pointed out that Wheeler is a pilot and owns a plane.

Wheeler stepped down as the headmaster of the private school in Wilmington last month. He is charged with 25 counts of dealing in child pornography.
