Dover's Marcellus Pack scored on a 1-yard run with 34 seconds remaining to complete a 4th quarter comeback in a 28-24 victory for the No. 3 Senators over No. 6 St. Mark's Friday night.
St. Mark's led 24-14 with 7:23 remaining after Jeff Richards' 39-yard field goal split the uprights.
Dover responded on its next drive when quarterback Nick Spadafino connected for the third time in the game to Tavarus Sample for a touchdown, this one from 29 yards out, to cut the Spartans' lead to 24-21.
St. Mark's could not run out the clock, giving the ball back to the Senators with under two minutes to go.
After three plays went nowhere, the Senators had 4th-and-10 from just inside St. Mark's territory, and Spadafino launched a wobbily spiral in the direction of Raekwon Bouges who adjusted to the football at the five yard line while falling to the turf.
Spadafino ran a read-option keeper down to the 1 yard line, and then handed off to Pack who worked around the left edge for the game-winning score.
St. Mark's led 14-7 at halftime after quarterback Zach Whitehead scored on an 18-yard draw, and he hit Connor Eastep on a slant pattern in the end zone for a touchdown. Dover's first half points came on a long pass from Spadafino to Sample.
Whitehead's second touchdown pass of the game came 4:22 into the 3rd quarter when he found running back Markquise Normand for an 18-yard catch-and-run to give them a two-score lead.
Dover answered with a 48-yard bomb to Sample who beat a double-team and backed into the end zone to make it 21-14, setting up the dramatic 4th quarter.
The Senators advanced to face No. 2 Salesianum next Saturday at 7:30 at Baynard Stadium. The game marked the last Senators' game on Dover High Stadium's field, as they move to a stadium at their new building on the southwest side of Dover which opens next season.
