By Mellany Armstrong

State police are investigating a couple of robberies that happened in New Castle early Saturday morning.

Police say a man came into the Rite Aid at 2034 New Castle Avenue at 12:20 a.m. and implied he had a gun. He demanded cash from the cashier, got it and left.

He's described as white, 25 to 30 years old, about 5 feet 6 inches tall with a thin build.

Shortly after 5 a.m., a man came into the Cumberland Farms at 752 West Basin Road and told the cashier he had a gun. She handed over money from the register and he left.
