Del. authorities eye safe driving enforcement
By Associated Press

Delaware highway safety officials are reminding motorists to take it easy as they travel during Thanksgiving week.

Delaware's Office of Highway Safety says Wednesday marks the start of the 1th annual Safe Family Holiday Campaign.

The campaign will include enforcement activities by 28 local law enforcement agencies and Delaware State Police conducting overtime patrols focused on aggressive driving, drunken driving and seat belt use.

Officials say overtime aggressive driving enforcement started Tuesday and runs through Dec. 7, and again from Dec. 19 to Dec. 28.

Seat belt enforcement will be the focus from Dec. 11 to Dec. 19, while DUI saturation patrols will begin Wednesday and last through the entire holiday season. Authorities also are planning a DUI checkpoint in Wilmington on Wednesday.
