VIDEO: Don Voltz speaks with St. Georges Head Coach J.D. MaullSt. Georges Tech, in just its 6th season of football, has reached the Division II finals for the first time. The Hawks will play Hodgson for the title at 2pm November 30th at Delaware Stadium.
Team: St. Georges Tech Hawks (11-1, 6-1 Flight B)
Coach: J.D. Maull
How they got here: Top seed in Division 2. Beat Indian River 42-35, beat Woodbridge 37-21
Players to watch: Junior twin running backs Tarron and Keyjuan Selby are two of the fastest players in the state at any level. Tarron has rushed for 1396 yards and 18 touchdowns and Keyjuan has added 771 yards and 11 scores. Zach Wright doesn't throw often, but when he does, he's pretty good, throwing for 999 yards and 15 scores.
Keys to victory: Hodgson won the regular season game, 24-21, when Hodgson quarterback Ray Jones blocked a field goal attempt on the final play of the game. St. Georges Tech needs to control the line of scrimmage to shake the twins for some long runs...they also would like to force some Hodgson turnovers....that has been the source of problems for the Silver Eagles at times in the past.
