The 3pm game between Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference rivals will pit the Lightning against a Ram squad (6-3) coached by Herb Magee, the NCAA's all-time wins leader with 966 victories. Magee is in his 47th season on the Philadelphia University bench.
Goldey-Beacom (4-3) is riding a three-game winning streak following a 92-79 victory over Concordia after which head coach Chuck Hammond says the team began to focus on the National TV Game.
"The guys are really excited for the opportunity, and I'm looking forward for the opportunity to play on National TV, something we've never had before in our school's history."
The CBS Sports Network audience will get to see a balanced Lightning attack which put 6 players in double figures in the victory over Concordia.
One of them was freshman Paris Ridgeway-Higgs, a former WDEL High School Athlete of the Week from Hodgson, who has broken the starting lineup as a freshman while averaging 11 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists per game.
"His energy is contagious for the rest of the group. He's a threat to score from anywhere on the floor. He's done a great job facilitating for us whenever the ball is in his hands."
Saturday's game is one of 8 scheduled by CBS Sports Network featuring Division II teams. CBSSN is on Comcast Cable Channel 732 in New Castle County.
Goldey-Beacom's next home game is Wednesday, December 18 when they host Chestnut Hill College.
