In ordering gynecologist Dr. Olivia Bolles to remain in custody pending trial, the judge noted that Bolles reported using two bags of heroin daily for the past six months, smoking marijuana daily and using cocaine weekly.
The judge says Bolles' drug use and access to drugs as a doctor makes her a danger to the community.
According to court documents, Bolles has confessed to conduct described in a criminal complaint against her.
The detention order also says Bolles struggled with depression and attempted suicide as a teenager, and that she lived in foster care for two years because of alleged abuse while living with her parents.
